• Stop third-gendering us. Trans women are women. Trans men are men.
• Stop reducing us to our genitals. Trans women are women even if they have penises. Trans men are men even if they have vaginas. Nonbinary people are whatever they say they are regardless of genitals.
• If you’re concerned that people looking for cis porn will run across trans porn accidentally, don’t misgender us in order to “resolve” this. Instead, educate your users as to what “cis” and “trans” mean, and set up your search terms accordingly.
• Most trans women do not actually “trick” straight guys into having sex with them, because we know very well that that could get us killed. Please quit spreading that meme.
• If the first place you heard a trans-related term was in mainstream porn, it’s probably not a good term. For example, “sh*m*le”, “t-girl”, and “dick-chick” are all pretty awful terms. (“Ladyboy” can be correct when referring to kathoey (if the individual ones you’re shooting/posting are okay with that term), but not when referring to transfeminine people generally.)
• Saying “it’s just porn” doesn’t actually make these things less damaging. In fact, it reinforces the idea that trans people (trans women in particular) who do porn are somehow unworthy of respect. I hope you don’t actually believe that.

I’m sure that this will fall on covered ears for the most part, but I know that at least some folks who make/post porn are trying to respect us, so. Yeah.
