I just wrote out a big rant because someone described a group of people as all “FAAB” in an image description. RAGEEEEE. But then I realized I wrote 4 paragraphs where I just sounded like a jerk and deleted it.

Short, polite version: please do not describe people by their sex assignment at birth unless it is immediately relevant and okayed by the person whose assignment you’re mentioning. Reducing people to their sex assignments, especially without their consent, erases their identities. Remember we use terms like coercive assignment at birth because it points out how busted the sex binary is, especially how oppressive it is to intersex folks.

Also, there is no way to tell what sex a person was assigned at birth by looking at them.

This is important. Sort of undermines the whole enterprise if FAAB/MAAB are simply used as unproblematic replacements for female/male, no?
