Just an innocent “trans woman” harassed for going into the ladies’ room to pee? Right? WRONG. The one on the left (the “trans woman”) is a twice-convicted child sexual abuser who spent SIXTEEN years in prison for sexually assaulting a minor. The one on the right (the “husband”) is a convicted murderer and convicted sexual abuser of a 12-year-old child. 

How many times do women have to post THE FACTS about criminal behavior by so-called “trans women” before people STOP LYING and saying that “trans women” never hurt women, can’t possibly be dangerous to women, should be able to freely enter women’s (formerly) safe and private spaces, be treated like one of us? A thousand? A hundred thousand? What’s it gonna take to BREAK THROUGH the denial and get people to SEE that some male-bodied, male-socialized, so-called “trans women” are in fact VERY dangerous.

Ahahah I’m glad that one gender variant rapist existing is like Christmas in July for you and all, but I can’t help but feel a mild sense of deja vu. Remember when you liked this post? I fixed it for you babe.

Oh and PS. No matter how many hours and days and weeks and years you spend blogging about how transgender people are rapists and a threat to society, you will eventually get bored and stop. Maybe you’ll realize you’re wrong first, maybe tumblr will fall out of popular favour first, maybe you’ll just get bored, but eventually you’ll stop.

And know what? Long after you and everybody like you stops, I will still be exactly the same person who I am now. Every other trans person will still be trans.

What in the ACTUAL fuck? How can anybody genericize one person or two people to an entire population and not be instantly seen by every human being with even the slightest semblance of a soul as an oppressor who needs to immediately own their shit and beg forgiveness?

You know, for all that radscum are forever insisting that there is no such thing as cis privilege and trans* is not an oppressed class…look at how this power dynamic is playing out, right here in this thread.  One trans woman is a convicted sex offender THEREFORE all trans women are rapists.  Does that sound familiar at all?  Here, let me give you some similar examples….

There are some Muslim terrorists THEREFORE all Muslims are terrorists.

Some women suck at math and science THEREFORE all women are incapable of having math/science careers.

Some black men are violent THEREFORE all black men are a threat to everyone else.

Do you see it yet?  It’s the classic pattern of a trait exhibited by a member (or a few members) of an oppressed group being generalized to apply to ALL members of that same group, even though it’s a trait that also appears in the privileged counterpart group as well.  Because when you reverse it, you get this…

There are some white Christian terrorists, but they’re crazy/fringe/lone wolf/etc.

Some guys suck at math and science, I guess their skills just lie elsewhere.

Some white guys are violent.  It sucks but that’s just how some people are.

Hell, think about this - there are cis women sexual predators out there.  This is a fact.  But you don’t see most people looking at those examples and saying “oh my god cis women are RAPISTS and DANGEROUS”.  That alone - the fact that in one direction, the “some rapists=all rapists” claim is presumed valid and pushed as if it’s true, but when the relevant groups are flipped, it’s just an individual, just a few bad apples - should tell you that there’s a privilege dynamic at work here, and it’s NOT “trans women are privileged over cis women”.

I got this ask (well, four asks, since it’s a long one) from someone who wanted to stay anonymous:

Uh so, I’m not sure if this is proper place to ask this or what, but here it goes. I’m looking for one movie or tv-show I saw when I was a young kid. I’ve tried to google it and search it from IMDb, but haven’t found it and I though maybe people here might know what this movie/tv-show is. This left an impact in me, in negative sense, as it was pretty transphobic I think. Basically the show’s idea was that there was a man, let’s call him Mr. Cis scum… who has to apologizeall the women he has hurt in the past (by not calling them back or something). It turns out one of these women isn’t a woman at all, but a trans guy. He works in a circus and when Mr. Cis scum goes to meet him, he’s disturbed by the trans guy and doesn’t apologize him at all because he’s a man (and a freak). The trans guy is angry and says Mr. Cis scum spoiled his womanhood and thus he decided to become a man. They fight, Mr. Cis scum beats him up andafter that is pretty much just “yeah fuck you you aren’t a real man”. My memory is really vague though. It’s propably silly to look for this show, but I guess it’s some sort of facing my demons kind of thing. I admit this scene has affected my self-confidence and made me doubt myself, it left me really upset back then when I saw this scene, and it still bothers me years later. And I think this is a reminder for people who think media portrayal of trans* people doesn’t matter, or that they shouldn’t be taken seriously, but treat as jokes, should really sit back and think how the ridicule of trans* people in media affects trans* people, especially young ones.

I’ve never seen or heard of this movie, but if anyone knows what anon’s talking about if you could answer or leave me an ask so I can let them know that’d be super.

It just fucking kills me that on the few spare occasions when cis people will deign to acknowledge our existence, it’s for no purpose other than to tell us we’re inferior and that it’s totally acceptable to randomly attack us for daring to be alive. I’m honestly really glad I’ve never seen this film, I don’t think I could stomach it if I did.

Please like this facebook page I created and spread the word. Everyone is welcome to add their own input with articles, zines, videos, comment - anything that challenges anti trans* bigotry within the feminist community.

After the cissexism and outright hate shown by people attending this feminist event, I decided to create this event as a counter protest. This is what led to the page being created as I wanted to do something that could raise the issue of cissexism more permanently than challenging one incident on it’s own.

Why someone may have their preferred pronouns listed on their tumblr:

• Because they don’t want people to misgender them
• Because they want people to respect their identity
• Because there may be other pronouns that trigger the fuck out of them and they want people to not use those
• Because, seeing how misgendering happens left and right, knowing what a person’s preferred pronouns are is something that is worth knowing as to not erase and invalidate people

What some people think having your preferred pronouns listed means:

• That a person is pretentious
• That a person is a “special snowflake”
• That a person is ‘being picky’
• That a person is purposefully trying to make the lives of others more difficult
• That a person is any number of negative things

What you’re probably being if you hold the opinions in column two:

• A jackass
• No, seriously. You’re very much likely being a jackass.
• Cissexist
• Binarist

What you need to understand:

• It’s not about you
• It’s not about making your life more difficult
• It’s not about policing everything that you say
• It is about not erasing other people
• It is about not invalidating the identities of others
• It is about respecting the identities of others and treating others how they deserve to be treated

What you need to stop doing:

• Attacking and degrading people for having preferred pronouns
• Attacking and degrading people when they tell you that you’ve used the wrong pronouns
• Purposefully using the wrong pronouns for a person, even after they’ve told you that they aren’t comfortable being referred to as such

One last thing that you need to understand:

• There’s a good chance that, at some point, you will use the wrong pronouns for someone. If this happens, don’t switch to douchebag-mode. Apologize (and meaning it would be good, too). Understand. And make efforts to not do the same thing in the future.
